BASEBALL
Our Recreational Baseball division is intended for those with little or no experience in the sport. Rule-set is based around instruction and a stress-free environment for coaches and players.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
NYS will group families together to form a team. Our teams are formed by the following criteria: Coach request, friend request, and zip code. If you do not have a coach or friend request, then we will place you on a team that is as close to your zip code as possible. After our teams are formed, parents/guardians will meet to discuss coaching, practice times, and locations. All of our teams are managed and coached by parent volunteers. Practices are determined by each team and generally run 1-3 times a week.
If we do not have enough volunteers that pre-register, we will be working through the process to get volunteers from your child’s team. If you are interested in coaching your child’s team, please check the coach box at registration or contact our office. Volunteering for your child’s team is an amazing way to help impact the children in this community. We are always looking for great people to join our mission!
After the parents on the team are communicating, then practices will begin. Teams will generally practice 2 or more times before the scheduled 1st games. NYS will release game schedules the week of the first game. Teams will play and practice for 7-8 weeks for the season. Games are held at local gyms, schools, and parks based on your area and are all primarily held on Saturdays.
3-4 Tball Tiny Tots Academy:
For ages 3-4, T-Ball is designed to introduce kids to the game of baseball. Focus is directed to help build coordination, social skills, and teamwork. All players get the opportunity to hit the ball directly off the tee and run the bases. All players will bat and play in the field. No outs or scores are kept. Coaches and Team Managers are all volunteers.
6U Tball / Coach Pitch Division:
For ages 6 and under, Tball / Coach Pitch program is designed for those with little or no experience in the sport. Focus is directed to help build coordination, social skills, and teamwork. Each player will have the opportunity to hit the ball directly off the tee and run the bases. All players will bat and play in the field. No outs or scores are kept. 9U Coach Pitch Division:
9U Coach Pitch Baseball is designed for those with little or no experience in the sport. In this division, coaches pitch, but they will pitch overhanded. Strikes and outs are recorded in this division and a run-rule is enforced. This becomes the transition level between T-Ball and Kid Pitch Baseball. Umpires are introduced in this division. Coaches and Team Managers are all volunteers.
12U Kid Pitch Division:
For kids 12 and under, Kid Pitch Baseball is designed for those with a little experience in the sport. In this division, the rule-set is very similar to the one in 9U Coach Pitch, but now the pitching is done by the players. The ability to steal bases is introduced in this division, although with modifications. Bunting is also allowed in Kid Pitch. Umpires are provided. Coaches and Team Managers are all volunteers.
